Ispat Energy Limited
Ispat Energy Limited (Ispat Energy) is an India-based power generation company. The company is constructing a power plant of capacity 110 MW located at Dolvi near Mumbai. The plant is in the advanced stage of construction and is expected to generate power from waste gases from the blast furnace. Ispat Energy has also entered into power generation using biomass, biogas, municipal solid waste and solar energy. The company targets to have generation capacity of 100 MW from these sources by 2010. It has already developed a 1 MW biomass pilot plant at Dolvi. Further, the company has also planned coal and gas-based power projects in various states in India, with a target capacity of 5,000 MW by the year 2012. The company is also planning to make a foray into LNG trading, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) distribution business. The company is headquartered in Mumbai, India.
