Cordero Energy Inc.
Cordero Energy Inc. (Cordero Energy) is a Canadian junior oil and gas company. It is engaged in oil and gas exploration, production and development in Alberta and British Columbia regions of Western Canada. It is also engaged in the exploration of coalbed methane and the Belly River development in Central Alberta. Further, the company has interest in one third-party operated natural gas plant and operates another plant both of which are located in Alberta, Canada. In addition, Cordero Energy has interests in well site facilities such as pumpjacks, tanks, meters and well site compressors, pipelines, compressor stations and satellites required to gather production and transport it to the central processing facilities. It is headquartered in Alberta, Canada and employs 20 people.
In July 2007, the company completed the acquisition of Sebring Energy Inc.
In 2008, Ember Resources, Inc., an oil and gas company engaged in the exploration for, and the acquisition, development and production of natural gas reserves, acquired all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Cordero. Following the acquisition Cordero became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ember Resources.
The company recorded revenues of C$52,717 thousand during the fiscal year ended December 2007, an increase of 17.4% over 2006. The operating profit of the company was C$7,066 thousand during the fiscal year 2007, a decrease of 35.8% over 2006. The net profit of the company was C$2,863 thousand during the fiscal year 2007, a decrease of 38.8% over 2006.
