Its focus is to provide solution to reduce global dependency on oil through the creation of a market-based transportation infrastructure that supports electric vehicles, providing consumers with a cleaner, sustainable, personal transportation alternative. Better Place is principally focused in designing and developing location for of charging spots, battery replacement and electric car parking lots to transform transportation infrastructure from oil based to renewable energy to reduce the harmful emissions.

The business model is based on subscription model. The company`s consumers subscribe to transportation as a service, and auto companies provide electric cars with its rechargeable batteries and also provides electric recharge network of charging stations and battery swap stations. In 2009, Better Place announced it has secured an initial round of funding of AUD$25 million for its planned charging and services network for electric vehicles (EVs) in Australia.
