Agropur cooperative
Agropur cooperative (Agropur) is engaged in the processing and selling of dairy products principally in Canada. The cooperative procures milk from its 3,533 member and owner farmers. The processed products are distributed to a large number of customers, including major Canadian food chains and industrial customers. The cooperative processed approximately 2.60 billion liters of milk in 2009. The cooperative operates 27 processing plants, spread across Canada, the US and Argentina. The cooperative sells milk and dairy products principally under several brands including Natrel, Canadian Reserve, Quebon, Island Farms, Yoplait, La Lácteo, Sealtest, Allegro,Schroeder and Agropur Signature. The cooperative also offers natural and organic products under Olympic brand and also sells a collection of other branded cheese from around the world under the name of Agropur Import Collection. In the year 2009, Allégro introduced new products, namely, Allégro Probio 7% soft-ripened cheese and Allégro low sodium 4% ricotta cheese. The cooperative is headquartered at Quebec, Canada.
