Sharjah Cement & Industrial Development Co. (SCIDC) is involved in manufacturing and supplying cement and paper sacks. It also offers produces limestone, siltstone, and synthetic rope. The products offered by the SCIDC`s Cement Factory include portland cement, moderate sulfate-resisting portland cement, sulfate-resisting portland cement, and ground granulated blast furnace slag. The company`s Paper Sacks Factory is engaged in the manufacture of multi-wall, glued/pasted paper sacks that find their application in packing cement, fertilizers, chemicals, flavors, sugar, and minerals. In addition, SCIDC, through its subsidiary, Gulf Rope and Plastic Products LLC, manufactures synthetic rope which is marketed under the brand name of Falcon. The company is headquartered at Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.The company reported revenues of (Untd. Arab Dirham) AED 1,197.84 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an increase of 30.74% over 2007. The operating profit of the company was AED 355.24 million during the fiscal year 2008, an increase of 11.47% over 2007. The net profit of the company was AED 251.67 million during the fiscal year 2008, a decrease of 38.35% from 2007.
