SembLog sees Q4 earnings tumble
By NS Admin Published 30 November 1999Net profit in the quarter totaled S$10.9 million, down 99% on the $1.09 billion in the prior-year period when it received one-off gains resulting from the sale of its stake in Kuehne + Nagel. Commenting on the results, a spokesperson for SembCorp Logistics said, "It has been a good year for SembLog. For the first time, we saw our revenue cross the record S$1 billion mark as SCM sales registered improvements across all regions. "Our efforts in investing and developing our supply chain network in Asia are paying off as we begin to see stronger business activities all round. We will continue to utilize our extensive supply chain network to create new business models for our customers and to serve more customers on a regional basis," he continued. Excluding the extraordinary gains, SembLog's fourth-quarter profits would have risen 9%.
