Peak launches RFID software for SAP, testing lab
Peak Automation Controller was built in SAP programming language and is NetWeaver compatible. It enables SAP users to deploy RFID printers and readers into existing infrastructure. The software meets RFID tagging and reading requirements of major US retailers and the US Department of Defense, according to Peak. The software, which can collect RFID reads from mobile, portal or tunnel RFID readers, filters and sorts aggregate data to determine what should be passed on to SAP. Separately, Peak also announced a new RFID test and integration lab at its Columbia, Maryland headquarters. The lab would enable enterprises to test hardware from vendors including Symbol, Intermec and SAMSys, as well as printers from Zebra and Printronix. "The Peak RFID test lab allows our customers to minimize risk by receiving an objective assessment on the best combination of RFID readers, printers and tags to ensure real-world success with their specific products," said Peak CEO Adrian Thomas, in a statement. Peak said it was working on making the lab be able to also support Oracle 11i eBusiness Suite, as well as the RFID functionality within Oracle AS10g and the Oracle Warehouse Management System 11i application module.
