Panalpina Forms Partnership with Shanghai Lingang
The solution includes pick and pack, quality checks, and U-Turn shipments. In 2010, Panalpina signed a partnership agreement with Lingang to rent 20’000 square metres of warehouse space as an initial step to offering one-stop logistics services to customers in the Yangshan free trade port area (YSFTPA).
Shippers can enjoy export tax refunds once the goods are declared in YSFTPA. Export customs clearance must be obtained within 20 days of a shipment arriving at the warehouse. This practice allows a shipper to combine multiple shipments in a single export customs clearance formality.
Rudolf Hug, chairman of the Panalpina Group, said: “As an integrated logistics solutions provider, Panalpina’s focus is the continuous enhancement of our supply chain solutions to meet our customers’ needs. The Shanghai Yangshan location will play a pivotal role in expanding our logistics services.
“The services available within our special competencies cover the creation of specific value-added services to complex projects, as well as access to our experts’ know-how across industries including Automotive, retail, fashion, hi-tech, telecom, healthcare, chemicals and oil & gas.”
Will the deal provide better supply chain solutions to Shanghai Yangshan?
