Janel Q2 Revenues Up 12.4%
For the second quarter of 2010, the company posted a net income of $0.11m, or $0.006 per diluted share, compared to net loss of $0.28m, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the prior year period. Operating income was $0.17m, compared to an operating loss of $0.36m for the prior year period.
For the six months ended March 31, 2010, the company has posted a net income of $56,047, or $0.003 per diluted share, compared to net loss of $0.4m, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the year ago period. Revenues were $36.26m, compared to $38.4m for the year ago period. Operating income was $0.14m, compared to an operating loss of $0.45m for the year ago period.
James Jannello, executive vice president and CEO of the company, said; “We are very pleased that our second quarter results have continued to reflect the underlying improvement in the domestic economy and that our company is now able to once again report a net income for the first time in nine quarters, or since the first fiscal quarter of 2008.
“Looking ahead, with the gathering strength in the economy translating to improved volumes in our core transportation logistics business, we are increasingly optimistic in our expectations for the remainder of fiscal 2010. We fully expect to be able to report total 2010 revenue above levels of 2009.”
