Frontier Airlines to Begin Denver-Rockford Service
The new service will be operated three days each week on 138-seat Airbus 319 aircraft that features STRETCH seating with up to five inches of additional legroom and 24 channels of DirecTV at every seat.
The introductory fare starts from $99 each way for the new non-stop service.
Additionally, members of EarlyReturns frequent flyer program of Frontier can earn double miles for every qualifying trip they take system wide throughout September 2011.
Daniel Shurz, vice president of strategy and planning for Frontier, said: â€œWe're very happy to add Rockford to the growing list of mid-sized cities getting the full benefits of Frontier's low-fare, high-value service.â€
The carrier has also extended its selling schedule through March 18, 2012, which includes the resumption of its nonstop seasonal service between Denver and both Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Mexico (ZIH) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR).
Amy Ott, interim executive director of Chicago Rockford International Airport, said: â€œWe are thrilled Frontier Airlines has added nonstop service between Rockford and Denver. Frontier is a great fit for the Chicago Rockford International Airport; as a team we will offer passengers a low-cost, hassle-free travel experience.â€
In June 2011, Frontier has planned to start nonstop seasonal service between Branson, Missouri (BKG) and both Austin, Texas (AUS) and Phoenix, Arizona (PHX) to its route map.
Frontier Airlines employs more than 5,500 aviation professionals and operates more than 500 daily flights from its hubs at Denver International Airport, Milwaukeeâ€™s General Mitchell International Airport and Kansas City International Airport.
