The Brazilian low-cost airline Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, which trades as GOL, has appointed Paulo Sergio Kakinoff as its new CEO. Kakinoff replaces the company's founder, Constantino de Oliveira Jr, in the role on 2 July.
Oliveira is expected to be made chairman of the board of directors at the company’s extraordinary general meeting on 16 July; Kakinoff will resign as a board member. However, there will be no other changes in the composition of the board and the airline’s organisational structure will remain unchanged.
Brazil's second-largest carrier will continue to have a technical and operational vice president, Adalberto Bogsan, and a finance and strategy vice president, Leonardo Pereira.
Kakinoff has served for 19 years at Volkswagen Group as the president of Audi Brazil. Prior to this, he was sales and marketing director at Volkswagen Brazil and South America executive director at the headquarters of the Volkswagen Group in Germany.
