Iowa Telecom Acquires WH Comm
By NS Admin Published 03 November 2009WH Comm was a division of Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association based in Rockford, MN.
WH Comm, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), provides telephone and high speed DSL Internet in several communities near the western suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. As of September 30, 2009, WH Comm had approximately 2,000 access lines and 700 DSL subscribers.
This is the fourth acquisition Iowa Telecom has completed adjacent to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan Area over the past 15 months, following Bishop Communications, Sherburne Tele Systems and the purchase of New Ulm Telecom’s minority interests in SHAL and En-Tel.
Is this a sensible move from Iowa Telecom?
