HDMI adoption climbs, while DVI slides into retreat, says In-Stat

Within the PC segment, HDMI made significant strides in 2008, doubling its penetration from 6.1 percent in 2007 to 12.3 percent in 2008. The number of mobile PCs with HDMI increased 76 percent over the same period.
The research firm forecasts that HDMI-enabled product shipments will increase at an annual rate of 20.3 percent through 2013. DVI-enabled product shipments will decrease at an annual rate of 8.1 percent through 2013.
In-Stat claims that separate DVI and HDMI penetration and market forecasts segmented by 22 application segments including desktop and mobile PCs, mobile PC docking stations, aftermarket graphics cards, LCD PC monitors, business projectors, digital signage, digital televisions, SD DVD players and recorders, blue laser DVD players and recorders, audio/video receivers, game consoles, digital camcorders, digital still cameras, portable media players, and mobile phones.
