Adobe to cut 680 full-time positions
To implement 2010 restructuring plan, which is expected to be completed by the end of fiscal year 2010, the company is planning to reduce around 10 percent of its total workforce, according to media reports.
Adobe said that Omniture employees would not be affected by the restructuring plan. In the recent times, Microsoft, EA and Sun Microsystems have announced job cuts. Industry sources anticipate that Adobe will report drop in Q4 revenue and think that the job cuts would help the company in reducing costs.
In other news, Adobe has introduced the Photoshop.com Mobile for Android software, extending Adobe digital imaging technology to users of the Google Mobile operating system. RIM and Adobe have expanded their collaboration and said that creative professionals and application developers will be able to use the Adobe Flash Platform technology and Adobe Creative Suite content development and authoring tools to create rich content and application experiences for BlackBerry smartphones.
