PAKT Selects NDS VideoGuard Express
PAKT currently has 70,000 analogue subscribers and is now investing in digital technology to bring an enhanced TV service to their viewers.
According to NDS, VideoGuard Express is a fully-featured solution that allows smaller or newer pay-TV operators to introduce digital services cost-effectively. With this customers benefit from the same market security which is relied on by established pay-TV operators around the globe. It currently protects content in more than 133 million active devices worldwide.
The solution also includes NDS Guide, a flexible seven-day electronic programme guide, NDS MediaHighway middleware and pre-integration with selected STB models.
NDS claims that VideoGuard Express also gives operators the flexibility and scalability to support a wide range of future services including digital video recorder functionality and interactive applications.
Belozerov Nikolay, general manager of PAKT, said: “We chose VideoGuard Express because of the superiority of its content protection, its flexible and powerful middleware and user interface, and its ability to support new applications and services as our business grows.
“To remain competitive in our market, it was crucial that our chosen solution not only provided us with leading-edge technology, but also that it did so in a cost-effective manner. VideoGuard Express does exactly that.”
Yves Padrines, vice president of business development at NDS, said: “PAKT has a reputation as a quality provider of cable TV and broadband services. As PAKT develops its digital service offering, VideoGuard Express will provide them with the content and service protection to safeguard their revenues from the threat of piracy, but also the enabling technologies to build viewer loyalty and grow their business.
“VideoGuard Express is a complete, cost-effective solution that is tailored to price sensitive markets and continues to be popular with small to medium sized operators such as PAKT who are looking to offer a truly enhanced service.”
