NBCUniversal and Netflix Renew Licensing Deal

The renewed agreement will expand the selection of non-exclusive NBCU film and TV library titles available to watch instantly streaming from Netflix.

Frances Manfredi, executive vice president and general sales manager of NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution, said: “This agreement demonstrates our commitment to providing NBCUniversal’s high-quality content to consumers on a variety of platforms. We are very pleased that Netflix recognizes the increasing value of NBCUniversal's extensive content offerings for their subscribers.”

In addition, NBCUniversal has promoted Jodi Kahn to the newly created position of president of iVillage, the essential digital brand for women and part of NBCUniversal's entertainment & digital networks and integrated media.

Ms Kahn will report to Nicholas Lehman, president of digital for NBCUniversal Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media.

Ms Kahn will continue to lead the business to extend iVillage’s presence to multiple platforms, which includes video, mobile and emerging media, and developing its community of women. She will also be responsible for iVillage UK, Astrology.com, GardenWeb, Lifegoesstrong.com, Petside.com and DinnerTool.com.

Mr Lehman said: “Jodi has done an outstanding job relaunching iVillage and steering the network to dramatic year-over-year growth. With her keen understanding of both consumer and marketplace dynamics, Jodi has architected a powerful platform to serve women’s every digital need.”

The NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution division is responsible for the sale of product to all forms of television within the US and Canada, which includes current television and film product as well as content from NBCUniversal's vast library in broadcast, basic cable, pay cable and subscription video-on-demand markets.
