Hearst Names Publisher of News-Times
Mr Palmer, who was associate publisher of The News-Times, is filling the previously vacant publisher role and will start in his new role immediately. He will assume responsibility for all business operations of the Danbury paper, as well as the New Milford Spectrum, and join the editorial board of The News-Times.
As publisher, Mr Palmer will continue to represent Hearst Connecticut Media Groupâ€™s interests across the Northwest corridor of Fairfield and Litchfield Counties and continue his active role in special projects involving new product development for the Group. He will continue to report Mark Aldam, executive vice president of Hearst Newspapers.
Mr Palmer joined Hearst as associate publisher of The News-Times in January 2010. Before that, he was a consultant to Hearst Connecticut Media Group and director of sales and business development for AdPerfect.
Mr Palmerâ€™s prior experience includes five years as advertising director for The Day Publishing Company in New London, Connecticut and six years at The Star-Ledger in Newark, New Jersey, where he served as classified sales manager and direct marketing sales manager.
Prior to joining The Star-Ledger, Mr Palmer worked in a variety of advertising sales and management capacities at The Hartford Courant.
