Freedom and AceMobi Expand Partnership

Mobile texting functionality will be available across Freedom's entire newspaper portfolio and in all key advertising categories, including real estate, automotive, recruitment and local retail.

Freedom will introduce mobile marketing services across all of its newspapers in the coming months. Ace Mobi first introduced the service with Freedom in fall 2009, when texting services and mobile website optimization were integrated into select classified advertising campaigns at The Orange County Register.

Two additional Freedom-owned newspapers, The Gazette in Colorado Springs, and Daily Press in Victorville, Calif began selling texting programs and mobile website optimization in May. The News Herald in Panama city will launch mobile text and website optimization services this week, said Freedom.

Mark McEachen, executive vice president, COO and CFO at Freedom, said: “As more people utilize their phones to research and shop while on the go, our partnership with Ace Mobi helps our advertisers be more accessible to their prospective customers and deliver interactive content catered to their specific interests.

“Mobile users will gain instant access to personalized information, while our advertisers generate qualified leads, foot traffic and ultimately purchases.”

Sam Farajian, president of Ace Mobi, said: “Given the firm foundation Freedom's newspapers have built through the years as trusted sources of local news and information, Ace Mobi is thrilled to partner with Freedom and help them further strengthen their customer relationships through innovative mobile offerings.

“Working with a visionary company like Freedom inspires us to continually enhance our mobile marketing tools and provide best-in-class solutions.”
