In this newly created post, Mr Andreae will be responsible for leading the Discovery's West Coast development and production of series and specials that contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the network.

As a key member of Discovery's senior management team, he will work closely with Bunting and Stephen Reverend, Discovery's East Coast senior vice president of development and production.

Mr Andreae most recently served as co-president of The Incubator, an independent production company.

Prior the The Incubator, Mr Andreae served as head of science and education at Channel Four in the UK.
