Discovery Appoints SVP of Domestic Distribution
Ms Lowe will lead all sales and marketing efforts for Discovery's Domestic Distribution team, responsible for the distribution and strategic management of Discovery's portfolio of 13 networks with all US distribution partners.
Ms Lowe will oversee all activities and carriage negotiations for Discovery's suite of HD channels, all Discovery US Hispanic networks and the company's joint venture services - the upcoming 3D network with Sony and IMAX and The Hub, in partnership with Hasbro.
Ms Lowe will oversee all aspects of the company's partnerships with distributors of Discovery's portfolio of US networks, as well as its industry-lauded sales and marketing team. She will lead and direct all national accounts activity with the top distributors, and will oversee the Domestic Distribution field sales team and all affiliate marketing efforts nationwide.
Ms Lowe will manage the teams in the Silver Spring headquarters location, as well as the Los Angeles and Charlotte regional offices.
Ms Lowe spent the previous 15 years at MTV Networks as senior vice president, content distribution and marketing. In this capacity she oversaw distribution for all MTV and BET Networks. Previously, she was responsible for negotiating distribution deals as vice president, market development for MTV and BET Networks.
Ms Lowe has also served as director and manager in the MTV Networks market development group. She started her career in media in planning and buying positions at Backer Spielvogel Bates, Orion Pictures and Draft worldwide.
