McKesson Expands I.V. Automation Portfolio
Under the terms of the agreement, McKesson and Health Robotics will cooperatively market and sell i.v.STATION and i.v.SOFT to North American hospitals and healthcare facilities.
By 2011 McKesson will manufacture, install, implement and provide front-line technical support, engineering and user-training services for customers in the US and Canada. Health Robotics will provide back-office technical support, high-availability solutions, and other services to McKesson.
David Souerwine, president of McKesson Provider Technologies, said: “This relationship expands our portfolio of market-leading automation technologies to include solutions for the efficient, accurate and sterile compounding of medications. In addition, it enables us to leverage our Pittsburgh-based manufacturing facilities for the benefit of Health Robotics and its customers.”
Werner Rainer, CEO of Health Robotics, said: “I’m very pleased to expand our strategic relationship with McKesson to include our newest patient safety solutions. This expansion resulted from the strong demand in North America for both i.v.STATION and i.v.SOFT, reflecting their flexibility, safety, throughput and cost advantages. It was a very easy choice to select McKesson, with its world-class manufacturing and service organizations and its footprint in the market.”
Will the expansion benefit McKesson?
