For the second quarter of 2010, the company posted a net patient service revenue of $90.63m, a decrease of 1.1 percent compared to $91.64m for the same period in 2009. Operating income was $0.56m, compared to $1.99m for the same period in 2009.

Total expenses were $90.07m for the six months of 2010, compared to $93.64m for the same period in 2009.

Patient days in the 2010 period were 369, or 0.6 percent, greater than the same period in 2009, while admissions were 42, or 2.1 percent, less than the same period in 2009.

The decrease in net patient service revenue on a per patient day basis was principally attributable to unfavorable adjustments of $3.5m recorded in the 2010 period as a result of changes in estimates and settlements on cost reports filed with the Medicare program.

For the six months ended June 30, 2010, the company posted a net income of $6.22m, compared to a net loss of $0.34m for the same period in 2009. Net patient service revenue was $185.59m, a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to $186.66m for the same period in 2009.

Total expenses were $179.37m for the six months of 2010, compared to $186.08m for the same period in 2009. Operating income was $6.21m, compared to $0.58m for the same period in 2009.

Patient days increased by 0.4 percent while admissions decreased 2.8 percent, for the six months ended June 30, 2010, as compared to the same period in 2009.
