Community Health Q2 Net Operating Revenues Up
By NS Admin Published 29 July 2010For the second quarter of 2010, net income was $86.34m, compared to $73.99m for the same period in 2009. Total operating costs and expenses were $2.89 billion, compared to $2.76 billion for the same period in 2009.
For the six months of 2010, the company posted a net operating revenues of $6.33 billion, an increase of 6.8 percent compared to $5.93 billion. Net income was $171.34m, compared to $146.89m for the same period in 2009.
Total operating costs and expenses were $5.78 billion, compared to $5.41 billion for the same period in 2009.
Wayne Smith, chairman, president and CEO of Community Health Systems, said: “Community Health Systems delivered another solid operating performance for the second quarter of 2010, in spite of the ongoing challenges in the economy.
“Our ability to continue to drive revenues and achieve solid margins demonstrates consistent execution of our centralized operating strategy and our focus on efficient expense management throughout our hospital network.”
