American Health Acquires Assets of MED-VALU
Through the acquisition, American Health adds more than 100 groups to the approximately two million lives the company currently serves.
American Health's acquisition includes MED-VALU's successful air medical evacuation service, which has served more than 300 cases since 2007. With one phone call, skilled coordinators facilitate emergency air ambulance services, from the request for evacuation to the patient's safe arrival at a care facility. The service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, and primarily evacuates cases from the Caribbean to the US or Canada.
MED-VALU began operations in 1987 and offered URAC-accredited utilization management, plus case management, maternity management, a 24/7 nurse line and several other services. The company clients have been welcomed to American Health and its industry-leading, proprietary i-Suite platform and robust line of medical management products.
American Health Holding is a single-source provider of medical management services that supports millions of members across the health care continuum.
Paul Lavin, president of American Health, said: “The acquisition of MED-VALU's assets is an exciting start for 2011 and an important step in American Health's continued growth. We are thrilled to have Lynda Davis join the American Health team.
“Ms Lynda has worked for MED-VALU since 1993. She will become a vice president at American Health. We look forward to continuing the strong relationships and excellent service that she and MED-VALU have provided their clients.â€
