Wells Fargo Q4 Net Income Widens
By NS Admin Published 20 January 2011For the fourth quarter of 2010, the company posted total interest income of $12.96 billion, compared to $13.69 billion for the same period in 2009. Total interest expense was $1.9 billion, compared to $2.19 billion for the same period in 2009.
Total non-interest income for the fourth quarter of 2010 was $10.43 billion, compared to $11.19 billion for the same period in 2009.
For the year ended December 31, 2010, the company posted a net income of $12.36 billion or $2.21 per diluted share, compared to $12.27 billion, or $1.75 per diluted share. Total interest income was $52.79 billion, compared to $56.27 billion for the same period in 2009.
For the year of 2010, the company posted a total interest expense of $8.03 billion, compared to $9.95 billion for the same period in 2009. Total non-interest income was $40.45 billion, compared to $42.36 billion for the same period in 2009. Revenue of $21.5 billion increased 12 percent (annualized) from third quarter 2010.
John Stumpf, chairman and CEO of the company, said: “As the US economy showed continued signs of improvement, our diversified model continued to perform for our stakeholders, as demonstrated by growth in loans and deposits, solid capital levels and improving credit quality.
“Wells Fargo was once again ranked No. 1 in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), an independent survey of consumer satisfaction of the largest banks in the US, for 2010. Our internal metrics indicate greater customer retention and deepening customer relationships.â€
