Q Resources Appoints New CFO
By NS Admin Published 01 February 2011Mr Ferrar has worked extensively in Africa and has held a number of significant financial and management roles including senior positions in the metals and mining investment banking teams at WestLB and Barclays Capital.
Mr Ferrar also has a wealth of operational experience across the metals and mining sector, working at AngloGold as project manager on the Yatela Gold Project and at Anglo American for four years in the new mining business division.
Q Resources has been established to identify, acquire and make investments in Resource assets with an initial focus on Africa and/or South America. The company will have no trading business, giving the directors a platform to carry out a detailed examination of potential acquisition targets.
Bernie Pryor, CEO of Q Resources said: “We are delighted that Gavin will be joining the company. We believe his extensive experience in the mining and metals sector will be of great value to the team as we develop the company through selected acquisitions.â€
Mr Ferrar said: “Having worked across the spectrum of metals and mining advisory, as well as operationally at major firms, Q Resources offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the creation and development of a new mining company. I am sure that working with the experience of existing management and the Board we will develop Q Resources for the benefit of shareholders.â€
