SolarEdge Expands Partnership with Big Solar
With SolarEdge’s 12.5kw inverters and power optimizers, BigSolar is positioned to provide an ideal solution for the popular 100kw installations in Greece.
The distributed SolarEdge solution includes PowerBoxes - module-integrated power optimizers, single- and three-phase solar inverters ranging between 3.3kw - 12.5kw, and a PV monitoring portal for module-level diagnostics.
Big Solar is active in planning, development, trade and management of PV installations. With a significant share of the Greek market, the company aims at the fast growing segment of residential and commercial rooftops as well as solar-farms.
Since the third quarter of 2010 Big Solar has sold more than 200 residential SolarEdge systems.
Fragiskos Valavanis, general manager of Big Solar, said: “we were impressed by the SolarEdge solution from the beginning, but now we have a track record that speaks for itself. We have many satisfied customers with installed SolarEdge systems. In one case, our customer installed two residential 5kw systems side by side, one with a leading traditional inverter and the other with a SolarEdge system.
“The SolarEdge system constantly produces four percent-six percent more energy which translates into significant financial gains for the home owner.â€
Zvi Lando, vice president of global sales at SolarEdge, said: “We are very happy to strengthen our collaboration with Big Solar. Big Solar’s business experience and strong market position combined with the extended SolarEdge portfolio create an ideal fit for the wide opportunities in the Greek PV market.â€
