First Solar Appoints President of USBG
Mr Brown is currently senior vice president of utility systems business sales. He will report to Rob Gillette, CEO of the company.
Mr Meyerhoff, current president of USBG and former CFO, will be leaving the company effective September 30, 2011.
Mr Meyerhoff joined First Solar in May 2006 as CFO. He was appointed as president of USBG in July 2010.
Mr Brown joined First Solar in 2008 as vice president of project finance, and has been involved in project finance and business development during his tenure. He currently is responsible for leading the wholesale systems sales business in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
Prior to joining First Solar, Mr Brown worked for approximately 20 years in banking covering project and structured finance for the energy and industrial sectors.
In addition, Frank DeRosa will assume an expanded role in USBG as senior vice president of business development for the Americas, reporting to Brown.
In his new role, Frank DeRosa will add business development and sales to his project development responsibilities in USBG for the Americas. He joined the company in 2010 as senior vice president of project development when first solar acquired nextlight renewable power, where he was founder and CEO.
Prior to that, Mr DeRosa worked for 23 years at Pacific Gas & Electric Company in both the regulated and unregulated business units, including running PG&Eâ€™s RPS procurement program and the independent power plant subsidiaryâ€™s development activities.
