CNPC's output reaches 20 million cubic meters at Sulige gas field
The Sulige field, which is claimed to have the largest proven gas reserves in China, has a production capacity of eight billion cubic meters of gas per annum. The field is part of the larger Changqing oil field. The Sulige field is expected to reach a production capacity of 35 billion cubic meters (bcm) per annum in 2015, accounting for around 70% of the Changqing field's total gas output. In 2008, a total of 1,145 wells have been drilled, 21 gathering stations have been built, and a production capacity of 3.74 billion cubic meters has been brought on line in the Sulige gas field. The second and the third gas processing plants, with annual capacity of 5bcm and 3bcm, respectively, have been constructed and put into commercial production, according to the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
