McDermott appoints new CEO for its B&W subsidiary
As a president and COO of B&W Power, Bethards was responsible for the company's fossil power-related operations, divisions and subsidiaries worldwide.Fees said, â€œBrandon has demonstrated the outstanding leadership necessary to drive B&W's business forward and continue our strategic growth initiatives. Brandon has exceptional qualifications to lead the B&W business in its existing global markets, as well as pursue our organic and acquisitive growth strategies." Bethards joined the company in 1970s, and held many positions of responsibility, including senior vice president and general manager of the B&W PGG Fossil Power division and vice president and general manager, global sales and service for B&W PGG. Bethards joined Kvaerner Pulping Inc. in 1992, as president and COO, and president and chairman of the board, Kvaerner Pulping Ltd. He rejoined B&W in 1996 as vice president of business development where he was responsible for the companyâ€™s strategic planning, mergers, acquisitions and alliances, and serving as executive sponsor for the business's global pulp and paper activities.
