KBR Subsidiary Bags $25m Construction Contract
KBR is an engineering, construction and services company. Lancaster is located approximately 40 miles south of Charlotte, North Carolina. Designed by Stevens & Wilkinson of South Carolina, the new courthouse is planned to achieve LEED certification.
Lancaster County's new 100,000-square-foot courthouse will house four courtrooms, jury deliberation rooms, lobby space, storage for court records, office and support areas, and secure facilities. The third floor will include unfinished space for future expansion. The original courthouse in Lancaster was constructed in 1828.
Luther Cochrane, senior vice president of KBR and chairman of the Building Group, said: “This project, which is very important to the Lancaster community, is a significant and sizeable win for KBR and the Building Group. We look forward to the successful construction of the new courthouse and to providing a facility that will effectively serve the Lancaster community for many years to come.”
