WABCO Opens New Subsidiary in Russia
WABCO RUS, as part of WABCO’s worldwide organization, conducts marketing and sales of WABCO products from the company’s broad portfolio of innovative technologies, systems and services.
WABCO RUS supplies local manufacturers of trucks, buses and trailers as well as aftermarket customers across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) through a national network of four sales offices and 140 service points.
In 2010, new commercial vehicle registrations in Russia more than doubled versus the previous year, 2009. Even so, new commercial vehicle registrations in Russia in 2010 were still less than half the market’s peak level in 2008, providing ample room for further growth. Local original equipment manufacturers account for up to 90 percent of all new commercial vehicles sold in Russia.
For over 140 years, WABCO has provided electronic, mechanical and mechatronic technologies for braking, stability and transmission automation systems for commercial truck, trailer and bus manufacturers.
Jean-Christophe Figueroa, vice president of vehicle dynamics and control at WABCO, said: “Forming a subsidiary in Russia marks another major step in our long established participation in this dynamic and growing market, as we continue to ensure full connectivity with local customers.
“We are passionate about helping Russian customers to realize their own ambitions by leveraging our technology and global resources through locally adapted systems and products.â€
