Volvo Receives 100 Trucks Order from Linfox
Volvo will manufacture the trucks at its production facility in Brisbane, Queensland.
The commitment to safety, quality and environmental care are the factors that supported Linfox to choose Volvo for the order. The extensive network of Volvo service agents on the east coast of Australia also supported Linfox decision.
The three model trucks that Volvo is supplying to Linfox will meet the Euro 5 emission standards and will also meet high demands of the customers when it comes to fuel efficiency.
Gary Bone, general manager of Volvo Trucks Australia, said: “Linfox’s customers take environmental responsibilities seriously. They expect their suppliers to do so as well.â€
Arne Knaben, CEO of Volvo Group Australia, said: “As a leading Australian logistics operator, Linfox sets the standard for the industry. Linfox’s values align perfectly with Volvo Trucks: they put safety, environmental care and quality first. The Linfox decision to buy Volvo trucks is a clear indicator that we are leading the way in the areas that really count.â€
In April 2011, Volvo Buses has received an order of 180 buses for public transport in New York City via its subsidiaries Prevost and Nova Bus. The customer wants to test how the buses cope with the demands of the New York City traffic.
The Volvo Group is a provider of commercial transport solutions, providing trucks, buses, construction equipment, engines and drive systems for boats and industrial applications, as well as aircraft engine components.
Will Volvo cater the needs of Linfox?
