Nova Bus Receives $231m Order
The order for Nova LFS articulated buses will be delivered from August 2011 to April 2013.
In 2010, the New York City Transit has tested 90 Nova’s articulated buses on Line M15 in Manhattan. The buses are of three doors and of low floors throughout the bus that led to rapid and comfortable boarding and alighting.
During the test the buses functioned well and contributed to the new major order. The buses will be manufactured at Nova Bus’ plant in Plattsburgh situated in the northern part of the New York State.
Gilles Dion, president and CEO of Nova Bus, said: “Nova Bus is proud to continue its partnership with MTA New York City Transit. Since 2009, our teams have worked in close collaboration to customize our product to address the unique operational needs of New York City.â€
In April 2011, Volvo Buses has received an order for 180 buses for public transport in New York City through its subsidiaries Prevost and Nova Bus. The client wants to test how the buses cope with the demands of the New York City traffic.
