Navistar Opens New Product Support Center in Woodridge
Apart from training and publications functions, the Woodridge center will also focus on technician recruitment and tools development aspects. The center will employ 80 people that include subject matter experts.
The center will include a 50,000 square foot training space for dealer and fleet technicians.
“Navistar chose the Woodridge location based on ease of access for students and employees. The center will serve as a companion facility to Navistar’s new world headquarters in Lisle - about 10 minutes away. This access enables rapid collaboration among our experts as they address key challenges faced by customer support personnel around the globe,†said Vaughn Allen, vice president of global service at Navistar.
According to the company, the new center comprises of a large office area, three classrooms, a photo and video studio, a computer lab, a tool development and fabrication shop.
Mr Allen said: “Navistar is committed to providing the best vehicle uptime and customer support in the truck industry. Our state-of-the-art center houses all product support and education personnel under one roof - which will facilitate the rapid development of tools, service information, technologies and training, to support our Navistar brands globally.â€
Earlier this month, Navistar Financial Corporation (NFC), an affiliate of Navistar International Corporation, has signed an agreement for a one-year renewal of a $500m dealer floor plan funding facility.
