Huf Opens New Lock production Plant in China
The new plant is installed with plastic moulding and painting facilities and also various assembly lines for production of locking systems, keys, door handles and steering column locks especially for the car manufacturers in the area.
Huf's new subsidiary reduces burden of its older subsidiary in Yantai that supply to the north Chinese market on its own but hit the capacity limit.
The new plant will work with Shanghai Huf that works on plastic moulding as well as dye casting and painting facilities. It also includes an electronic development centre and an electronic production is in the set-up.
Ulrich Hulsbeck, CEO Huf Group, said: â€œWe are supplying with our products not only international car makers and joint ventures with production capacity in China but also Chinese car manufacturers. This year we received some very attractive orders.â€
The set-up of new Chinese plant is part of the companyâ€™s internationalization strategy. Changchun Huf Automotive Lock is the 20th company within the Huf Group and the fourth in China.
Apart from the expansion in China, the company has set up a production plant at Mexico in 2010. The site in Brazil is under construction to double production area. New plants were set up in India and Romania. More plants are in the USA, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain and Poland.
Huf is a supplier of passive-entry-systems. It employees 45 people at Changchun Huf at the moment and will increase the number to 220 by the end of the year 2011.
At the parent company, Huf Hulsbeck & Furst in Velbert (Germany), a quarter of the total 5.600 are employed. Huf Group reached a turnover of E847m in 2010.
