CTA Names New CEO
Previously, Mr Etzel was the finance manager of the business unit Continental International and was responsible for developing its tire business outside Europe and NAFTA.
In this role, he enhanced his knowledge in the tire business and expanded the company's business and sales networks to Russia, Brazil, Argentina, the Middle East and China. In addition, he was also involved in the negotiation and implementation of technology license agreements.
Since 2003, Mr Etzel headed the corporate mergers & acquisitions and corporate real estate departments where the company has increased its standards in business by acquiring Motorola's Automotive Electronic Business and Siemens-VDO.
Mr Etzel has also developed the company internationally by adding the Continental tires South Africa and Matador Rubber, Slovakia and also added many distributors, wholesalers & retailers into the Continental tire divisions.
Earlier in May 2011, CTA has named Matthias Schoenberg, CEO of the company, as the head of ContiTech's Fluid Technology business unit at Frankfurt. The company said that the successor of Mr Schoenberg will be named in the near future.
Continental is a supplier of brake systems, systems and components for powertrains and chassis, instrumentation, infotainment solutions, vehicle electronics, tires and technical elastomers.
