The Japanese tyre manufacturer announces new investment of €120m.

Bridgestone Stargard, the Polish subsidiary of the Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone Corporation, has announced that it will increase the production capacity of truck and bus radial tyres at its Stargard plant in Poland, with a total investment of approximately €120m (approximately ¥12.6bn).

The Stargard plant started operations in 2009. The facility – Bridgestone’s European headquarters of tyre businesses – currently produces approximately 2,400 tyres per day.

The planned expansion is expected to be completed during the second half of 2014. It will increase production capacity by approximately 1,350 tires per day, bringing the plant's output to approximately 3,750 tires per day.

In addition to tyres, Bridgestone also manufactures a broad range of diversified products, including industrial rubber, chemical products and sporting goods. Its products are sold in over 150 nations and territories around the world.
