So whoever decided that the best theme for a party celebrating Windows updates was “penis” is probably now regretting it.
At a Norway Developers Conference this week, a promotional song made a valiant attempt to link sex, drugs and the recent changes to Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform.
The tenuous thesis was proposed via the means of a techno-dance routine. Sample lyrics included: “CSS is my LSD” and the endearingly inclusive “the words micro and soft don’t apply to my penis (or vagina)”.
Microsoft’s rather deflated reaction suggested they probably did not sign off on this. Frank Shaw, head of corporate communications for Microsoft, tweeted:
This routine had vulgar language, was inappropriate and was just not ok. We apologize to our customers and partners. geekwire.com/2012/raunchy-w…

The official Windows Azure channel wrote this comment on the circulating You Tube videos:
This week’s Norwegian Developer’s Conference included a skit that involved inappropriate and offensive elements and vulgar language. We apologize to our customers and our partners and are actively looking into the matter.
Oh dear.
