Continental Auto launches vehicle connectivity solution

Continental Automotive has launched an in-car connectivity solution called Autolinq at the Consumer

The German automaker's system, based on Google's Android operating system, enables drivers and passengers to download content from the web to their vehicle dashboard.

They can ask questions or send commands from their mobile phone to their vehicle, with options such as checking the status of fuel or location of the vehicle. The users can change certain vehicle settings and customise individual driver preferences from a laptop or home PC.

Autolinq offers vehicle occupants access to location-based information such as the nearest fuel station.

The product will be available in the second half of this year.
