Saturday night saw the return of ITV's fifth series of Britain's Got Talent. Although it failed to break the 10m mark for the first time in three years, it gave the channel a strong showing.
The programme received an average audience of 9.9 million viewers between 8:20 and 9:50pm which beat BBC1's new entertainment show, Sing If You Can. This was despite returning without the infamous Simon Cowell. He has been replaced by Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff.
Ratings failed to reach the 10 million mark for the first time since 2008. However, this is the first time that viewers have also been able to watch the programme an hour later on ITV+1. With these figures included, audience numbers reached an average of 10.4 million.
