X Factor bosses mull appointing fifth judge

The programme creator Simon Cowell is said to be giving final touches to the proposal.

The X Factor bosses are considering appointing a fifth judge to the ITV talent show after the furore over Cheryl Cole's refusal to vote on Sunday night.

More that 900 viewers complained to Ofcom that the show was "fixed" and The X Factor host Dermot O'Leary used his Twitter account to explain there was "no plot".

The programme creator Simon Cowell is said to be giving final touches to the proposal.

It also emerged that Cowell organised a "summit" to discuss new measures for the show and some 20 X Factor fans were called upon to brainstorm ideas to improve the show and ensure that Sunday kind of episode does not repeat.

However, the X Factor bosses have dismissed these claims denying a summit took place and asserted that they were all "speculations".

They have also dismissed the Daily Star's report that there would be a double eviction this weekend.
