ITV extends British Touring Car deal for another three years

Live races to be shown on ITV4 and online.

ITV has extended the agreement to provide live coverage of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) for another three years from 2011.

According to the renewed deal, ITV4 will air live coverage of the event on all race days and ITV1 will broadcast the highlights.

ITV will also run the series in high definition on its new ITV4 HD channel, which will launch in November exclusively on Sky.

Live streams of all BTCC race days will also be offered on ITV.com, while the highlights programme will be provided on catch-up service ITV Player.

ITV has been covering the BTCC since 2002.

Niall Sloane, head of ITV Sport, said that the races are a major feature of the ITV4 schedule and that ITV looks forward to three more productive seasons with BTCC.
