Iliffe News & Media joins ITN's Premium News Network

ITN to provide video news for newspaper sites

Iliffe News & Media, which owns 28 newspapers in the UK including the Cambridge Evening News, has joined ITN's ad-funded video news service, the Premium News Network (PNN).

ITN has signed a deal with the media company to supply video news packages for Iliffe's newspaper websites.

The package will include UK and global news, as well as entertainment, sports and business news. According to the deal, contextual advertising will run around video content and will be delivered by Blinkx.

ITN has also struck a similar deal with satirical news site Daily Mash, launched in 2007 by two journalists from the Sunday Times and the Scotsman, to provide a video package of entertainment and sports content.

Midland News Association, which owns more than 20 titles including Wolverhampton's Express & Star, was the first to join the PNN.
