The BBC has dropped the much-hyped six-part series, The Delicious Miss Dahl, after just one series.

Hosted by supermodel Sophie Dahl, the series received low ratings and poor reviews. It features the granddaughter of children's author Roald Dahl making recipes from her recent cookbook, Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights, and sharing her "personal food memories".

Dahl was criticised for some of her personal pieces, including reciting poetry in a graveyard and for imitating Nigella Lawson's playful presentation style.

The final episode of the first series of the programme produced by Jamie Oliver's television company, Fresh One Productions, attracted just 1.4 million viewers.

Dahl is reportedly in talks with the BBC over her future at the broadcaster.
