Wright to front radio station's Premier League coverage

Ex-Arsenal frontman to host Absolute's Saturday afternoon show.

Ex-footballer Ian Wright is to join Absolute Radio - which has the rights to 32 live Premier League commentaries - to present the station's live Premier League games, due to start from 14 August.

Wright, who presented the drivetime show on rival commercial station TalkSport, will host a 90-minute post-match analysis on Absolute Radio at 5pm on Saturdays.

His show will be broadcast on both Absolute Radio and its new digital station Absolute Radio Extra.

English football commentator Jim Proudfoot and English radio DJ Russ Williams will also present the coverage of PL games. Proudfoot will commentate on the exclusive live Saturday afternoon games on Absolute Radio Extra and its AM and online services.

Williams will present Rock & Roll Football on the main Absolute Radio digital station, and on FM in London between 3pm and 5pm. He will also front a 90-minute build-up show on Absolute Radio Extra.

Absolute Radio Football Live will be co-produced by the independent production company, USP, with Simon Crosse as executive producer.
