Comic Jason Manford to host BBC's One Show

Comedian will receive £120,000 for presenting job.

Comedian Jason Manford will host The One Show along with Christine Bleakley from July, the BBC confirmed on Wednesday. Until then, Chris Evans will be co-presenting the show with Bleakley.

Manford, who regularly appears on the comedy panel show 8 Out Of 10 Cats on Channel 4, will replace Adrian Chiles, who moved to ITV and GMTV in a four-year deal.

The 29-year Manford moved into broadcasting after starting as a stand-up comedian. He carries the credit of presenting Channel 4's late-night satirical show Tonightly and BBC3's Comedy Shuffle.

Manford, who would be paid £120,000, said he was thrilled to be part of The One Show team.
