Jungle Book to air on British TV

The BBC has signed a deal to buy 52 short episodes of the animated series Jungle Book, reports the F

It is understood that the corporation has paid between £7m and £10m for the rights.

The series consists of self-contained episodes based on the adventures of Mowgli, Rudyard Kipling's "mancub," and his friends.

It is produced by DQE and co-produced by the German broadcaster ZDF and the French television company TF1.
