By New Statesman Published 05 April 2010The draft script included a scene in which Blair and his Director of Communications Alastair Campbell forced the then-chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee, John Scarlett, to "sex up" the dossier on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, published in September 2002.
The drama apparently contained scenes where Blair urged Scarlett to refine the intelligence report on Iraq's weapons so that people understood what a threat Saddam posed.
The inclusion of such controversial scenes led to the resignations of the BBC chairman and director general in early 2004, which delayed the commissioning of the drama.
