Mike Cass to leave Galaxy Radio

Galaxy Radio's Programme Director plans to leave at the end of May, reports Radio Today.

Global programming chief Richard Park confirmed Cass' departure on 28 May in a memo to the staff. Cass is reportedly keen on leaving the radio industry altogether. He joined Galaxy as head of music in 1997. Since then he has worked as PD for Galaxy North East, Manchester, Birmingham and Yorkshire, before being made programme director for the entire network. Earlier, Cass worked at SGR Colchester and MFM. He began his broadcasting career at Leicester Sound and became a presenter in 1991.
